Glint: The Movement App Designed for Mothers

Jan 18, 2026

Glint is a hypothetical fitness app that curates personalized exercise routines for mothers based on their lifestyles and health goals. The app focuses on incorporating small moments of activity throughout the day and generates new routines with mothers as they move through motherhood. My team and I placed 2nd in Cal Poly's UX Fest SLO designathon competition.

The Challenge

Design a mobile or web prototype that reimagines learning as a continuous, evolving practice rather than a path toward completion. Your solution should help learners stay curious, engaged, and growing, without relying on traditional markers of “finishing."

During our 24-hour designathon (a hackathon for designers), our team was tasked with creating a design solution that prompts continuous learning without traditional markers of success.

Why Mothers?

We identified a market gap in physical activity for mothers, which led us to create Glint: the fitness app that grows with mothers at any stage of motherhood.

Nearly 61% of women cited motherhood as a reason for dropping out of fitness – Les Mills International (2024)

Problem Statement: When mothers try to stay healthy and physically active through stages of motherhood, they struggle because limited time and inconsistent routines make it hard to understand and adjust to their changing bodies, leading to confusion, frustration, and feeling disconnected from themselves and their health.
